Abstract A CONSTANT VELOCITY TYPE UNIVERSAL JOINT HAVING A DRIVING YOKE, A DRIVEN YOKE AND A TORQUE TRANSMITTING INTERMEDIATE CROSS ASSEMBLY. THE CROSS ASSEMBLY INCLUDES GEAR MEANS HAVING SLIDING CONTACTS WITH THE YOKES WHICH FUNCTION TO MAINTIAN THE CROSS MEMBER IN A PLANE FORMING AN ANGLE WITH THE BISECTING PLANE EQUAL TO ONE-HALF THE ACUTE JOINT ANGLE.
