Abstract A NORMALLY LIQUID, ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT-SENSITIVE SKIN MARKING COMPOSITION IS DISCLOSED AS BEING USEFUL FOR MARKING THE SKIN OF ANIMALS OR HUMANS, FOR INSTANCE TO INDICATE AREAS ON A PATIENT''S SKIN WHICH ARE TO BE SUBJECTED TO RADIATION THERAPY, FOR EXAMPLE FOR THE TREATMENT OF CANCER. THE MARK LEFT BY THE COMPOSITION IS INVISIBLE IN VISIBLE LIGHT BUT FLUORESCES UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT. THE COMPOSITION CONSISTS ESSENTIALLY OF POLYVINYL ACETATE, A WATER-IMMISCIBLE FLUORESCENT BRIGHTENING AGENT OF THE AMINOCOUMARIN TYPE, ORGANIC SOLVENT, AND, OPTIONALLY, WATER.
