Abstract

Abstract A bezel for use in a fluid distribution system characterized by an outer frame for connecting with a plenum and an inner guide frame adapted to conformingly fit within the outer frame to define a relatively streamlined flow boundary therewithin, the inner guide frame having a plurality of stations for mounting a plurality of louvers and a control panel within the outer frame. Also disclosed are preferred embodiments in which a plurality of sets of stations are included within the inner guide frame such that a variety of sizes of louvers may be employed; wherein the set of stations comprise at least a pair of stations adapted to receive a control panel and a pair of stations adapted to receive a support web that may be snapped into place, the support web in turn having a slot adapted for receiving the louvers which may be snapped into place; as well as preferred materials of construction.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 292 words
A bezel for use in a fluid distribution system employing a predetermined group of louvers, the predetermined group being selected from a plurality of groups of louvers; each group having a respective number of louvers that are standard within each group, comprising: a. an outer frame adapted for connection with a plenum in said fluid distribution system; b. an inner guide frame adapted to conformingly fit within said outer frame and having a plurality of discrete and standardized mounting positions for mounting any of said predetermined groups of louvers within said outer frame; said plurality of mounting positions being arranged in a plurality of individual sets of stations; each said individual set of stations, in turn, comprising at least a pair of stations being spaced at predetermined mounting positions such that a pair of mounting means disposed thereat will support a standard louver of a predetermined group of said standard louvers within said outer frame; said plurality of mounting positions also comprising a pair of stations for mounting a control panel within said outer frame; said inner guide frame having oppositely disposed sides that are the same such that said inner guide frame is reversible through 180*; and c. mounting means for mounting respective ends of said louvers and said control panel; said mounting means being disposed at a plurality of said mounting positions selected in accordance with the set of stations for the predetermined group of louvers and control panel arrangement selected for said bezel; each mounting means having means for retaining it at said mounting position and means for supporting said end of said louver; whereby a variety of said plurality of louver and control panel arrangements may be effected with the single set of said frames and mounting means.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 292 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 40 words
The bezel of claim 1 wherein said inner guide frame has 10 mounting positions that are so arranged that eight combinations are possible with only three different standard louver sizes enabling having either two, three, or four louvers per bezel.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 31 words
The bezel of claim 2 wherein each said mounting means comprises a support web and means for mounting said support web at the top and bottom of said inner guide frame.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 202 words
A bezel for use in a fluid distribution system employing a predetermined group of louvers, the predetermined group being selected from a plurality of groups of louvers; each group having a respective number of louvers, comprising: a. an outer frame having a curved front terminating in an inner edge and adapted for connecting with a plenum in said fluid distribution system; b. an inner guide frame adapted to conformingly fit within said outer frame, to conformingly abut said inner edge, and to define a relatively streamlined flow boundary between the internal wall of said outer frame and said inner edge for eliminating turbulence due to fluid flow in the curved front internal portion of said outer frame; said inner guide frame having a plurality of discrete mounting positions for mounting any predetermined group of said plurality of groups of louvers and a control panel within said outer frame; and c. mounting means for mounting respective ends of said louvers and said control panel; said mounting means being disposed at a plurality of said mounting positions selected in accordance with the predetermined group of louvers and control panel arrangement selected; each said mounting means having means for retaining it at said mounting position.
Claim 6
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 139 words
The bezel of claim 4 wherein said plurality of mounting positions comprise a plurality of individual sets of stations, each said set of stations in turn comprising at least a pair of stations being spaced at predetermined mounting positions such that a pAir of mounting means disposed thereat will support a standard louver of a predetermined group of standard louvers within said outer frame; said plurality of mounting positions also comprising a pair of stations for mounting a control panel within said outer frame; said inner guide frame having oppositely disposed sides that are the same such that said inner guide frame is reversible through 180*; whereby more effective distribution of said fluid is effected because there is less turbulence and whereby a variety of louver and control panel arrangements may be effected with the single set of frames.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 29 words
The bezel of claim 5 wherein said inner guide frame has 10 mounting positions that are so arranged that eight combinations are possible with only three standard louver sizes.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 31 words
The bezel of claim 6 wherein each said mounting means comprises a support web and means for mounting said support web at the top and bottom of said inner guide frame.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 50 words
The bezel of claim 7 wherein a plurality of louvers and a control panel are included in said bezel with said control panel located at an end position, and said control panel may be located at either end of said outer frame by rotation of said inner guide frame 180*.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 17 words
The bezel of claim 8 wherein said plurality of louvers is either two, three, or four louvers.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 28 words
The bezel of claim 7 wherein a plurality of louvers and a control panel are included in said bezel with said control panel located at the center position.
