Abstract
Abstract Oral compositions may include in excess of 1 percent and up to about 40 percent of ammonium salts of condensation products of ammonia and phosphorus pentoxide, e.g., TOGETHER WITH A CARRIER SUITABLE FOR USE IN THE ORAL CAVITY. Such compositions preferably also comprise stannous and fluoride ions and exhibit relatively low pH values (in the 4-5 range), and are highly effective in reducing the solubility of dental enamel. Moreover, such compositions also exhibit marked effectiveness in reducing the susceptibility of the teeth to the accumulation of dental calculus.
