Abstract

Abstract The invention relates to inertial energy storage devices wherein a central hub holds a multiplicity of anisotropic filaments, the filaments extending from the hub in fixed relation thereto and in parallel planes perpendicular to an axis of rotation through said hub. Each filament extending from the central hub is so disposed within the structure that the stress component imposed on said filament acts uniaxially along its length.
