Abstract
Abstract The gear shifting lever on a bicycle equipped with a multiplespeed transmission between the pedal shaft and the rear wheel is mounted centrally on the handle bar in such a manner that it projects upwardly from the handle bar and pivots in a plane which includes or is contiguously adjacent to the axis of the steering column and of the front wheel fork attached to the column.
