Abstract
Abstract NORBORNENE AND ALKYL SUBSTITUTED NORBORNENES ARE MADE BY CONTINUOUSLY CONDENSING OLEFINS SUCH AS ETHYLENE, PROPYLENE, ETC. WITH DICYCLOPENTADIENE OR CYCLOPENTADIENE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN INERT SOLVENT IN A PRESSURIZED REACTOR. INCREASED YIELDS OF THE DESIRED NORBORNENES ARE OBTAINED BY RECYCLING THE BY-PRODUCTS BACK TO THE REACTOR TO REACT WITH ADDITIONAL OLEFINS.
