Abstract NOVEL 5-PHENYL (OR SUBSTITUTED PHENYL)-2,3,4,5-TETRAHYDRO-1H-1,4-BENZODIAZEPINE-2-ONE DERIVATIVES. THESE NOVEL COMPOUND ARE CHARACTERIZED BY THEIR PSYCHOSEDATIVE PROPERTIES, ESPECIALLY THEY SHOW TRANQULIZING AND ANTIDEPRESSANT PROPERTIES AND, THUS, THEY ARE USEFUL AS A MINOR TRANSQUILIZER. SUCH BENZODIAZEPINE BASE IS PREPARED BY REACTION OF CORRESPONDING 2-SUBSTITUTED ACYLAMINOBENZOPHENONE DERIVATIVE WITH APPROPRIATE PRIMARY AMINE DERIVATIVE.
