Abstract AN IMPROVED PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A LINEAR POLYESTER WHEREIN POLYCONDENSATION OF GLYCOL TEREPHTHALATE IS PER FORMED IN THE PRESENCE OF (1) A TRIVALENT ANTIMONY COMPOUND, (2) A PHOSPHORUS COMPOUND AND (3) AN ORGANOTI COMPOUND IN THE PROPORTIONS SATISFYING THE FOLLOWING ATOMIC RATIOS; SN/SB$0.2 AND P/SN$1. THE RESULTANT POLYESTER EXHIBITS EXCELLENT WHITENESS AND TRANSPARENCY AND THEREFORE, IS PARTICULARLY USEFUL FOR A TEXTILE FIBER AND FILM.
