Abstract
Abstract Apparatus for dispensing liquid such as for the dyeing of textiles in which a rotatable roller extends longitudinally in a trough-containing liquid, the roller being so positioned that its lower periphery immerses in the liquid in the trough. A blade is inclined toward the roller, extends longitudinally with respect thereto and has an upper edge slidably engaging the roller. The lower portion of the blade is provided with means including opentopped trough-like nozzles having rounded terminating portions for diverting liquid down the blade to form a row of interspaced low-speed liquid jets.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
92 words
Apparatus for dispensing a row of interspaced low-speed liquid jets, comprising a liquid-containing trough, a rotatable roller positioned so its lower periphery immerses in liquid in said trough and extending longitudinally with respect to the latter, and a blade extending longitudinally with respect to said rolLer, having an upper longitudinal edge slidably engaging said roller, and being inclined toward this roller, the lower portion of said blade having means for diverting liquid flowing down the blade to form said low-speed liquid jets, said means including open-topped trough-like nozzles having rounded terminating portions.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
160 words
Apparatus for dispensing a row of interspaced low-speed liquid jets, comprising a liquid-containing trough, a rotatable roller positioned so its lower periphery immerses in liquid in said trough and extending longitudinally with respect to the latter, and a blade extending longitudinally with respect to said roller and having an upper longitudinal edge slidably engaging said roller and the blade being inclined towards this roller, a portion of said blade extending downwardly from its said upper edge being flat throughout its length so as to receive a film of liquid from said roller when the latter is rotated so its periphery moves downwardly towards said edge, the lower portion of said blade having means for diverting liquid flowing down the blade to form said low-speed liquid jets, said means comprising a row of upstanding converging walls leading to apices and trough-like nozzles connecting with said apices, said walls separating said film into converging liquid flows which are dispensed through said nozzles.
Claim 4
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
17 words
The apparatus of claim 2 in which said nozzles have sufficient depths to confine said converged flows.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
22 words
The apparatus of claim 3 in which said blade has means for mounting it for movement longitudinally with respect to said roller.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
12 words
The apparatus of claim 3 in which said nozzles have rounded bottoms.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
18 words
The apparatus of claim 5 in which said nozzles are V-shaped in cross-section extending upwardly from said bottoms.
