Abstract
Abstract An integral, open mesh, wound spool of generally cylindrical form includes a body section of a crossed strip of material, forming plurality of open diamonds, and a pair of spaced apart substantially solid end portions. The diamonds are in rows, circumferentially and rows longitudinally of the spool, with each of the circumferential rows having a predetermined odd number of diamonds and with the number of diamonds in each circumferential row and the number of diamonds in each longitudinal row having only unity as a common factor.
