Abstract
Abstract A pattern making composition for use in the manufacture of precision investment casting molds, the pattern composition containing one or more waxes and a combustible polyhydric alcohol having a melting point above the melting point of the wax to act as a filler for the pattern composition. The wax composition also preferably includes an organic acid to aid in suspending the polyhydric alcohol. The invention also is directed to the manufacture of precision investment casting molds using the improved pattern composition.
