Abstract

Abstract Dielectric constant and long-term hydrostatic strength properties of polybutene-1 high-tension cable insulation are improved by the presence therein of up to 1% by weight of magnesium oxide or other water insoluble magnesium compound and up to 1% by weight of a phenolic antioxidant, which improvement is further enhanced by up to 10% by weight of a paraffin of a molecular weight of 400 - 10,000.
