Abstract Pharmaceutical compositions containing as an active ingredient a compound of the formula wherein R is branched alkyl of 5 to 8 carbon atoms containing a quaternary carbon atom which is attached directly or through an alkylene chain of 1 to 4 carbon atoms to the amino nitrogen atom, and R2 is hydrogen or chlorine, OR A NON-TOXIC, PHARMACOLOGICALLY ACCEPTABLE ACID ADDITION SALT THEREOF; AND A METHOD OF USING THE SAME AS Beta -ADRENOLYTICS AND HYPOTENSIVES.
