Abstract

Abstract A polar unsaturated polyester is photocured by irradiating (ultraviolet radiation) an admixture of a polythiol, an unsaturated polyester, and a photocuring rate accelerator. The unsaturated polyester is prepared by reacting mono- or polycarboxylic acids with mono- or polyhydric alcohols. The double bonds are furnished by any of these components. At least one of the double bonds is situated internally to the main backbone chain of the polyester. The photocure is achieved by the addition of the sulfhydryl groups of the polythiol to the reactive double bonds of the polyester.
