Abstract Shampoo compositions which impart luster and manageability to the hair, said compositions comprising an alkyl sulfate or alkyl monoglyceride sulfonate surfactant, urea, dodecyl alcohol and guanidine or a water-soluble salt thereof, said compositions having a pH of from about 5 to about 8.
