Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 92 words
In a process for oxidizing vat or sulfur dyes present in reduced form on cotton or regenerated cellulose textile fibers by contacting said dye with an aqueous oxidant solution, the improvement wherein said aqueous oxidant solution consists essentially of a. 0.01-10% of an oxidizing agent comprising an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium bromate or iodate and b. 0.005 to 5% by weight of an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium vanadate and wherein at least one of (a) and (b) is an alkaline earth metal, c. the remainder water.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 92 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of said oxidizing agent to said vanadate is 1:1 to 100:1.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 12 words
The process of claim 2 wherein said dye is a sulfur dye.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 25 words
The process of claim 3 wherein said oxidizing agent is the alkali metal or ammonium salt and said vanadate is the alkaline earth metal salt.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 25 words
The process of claim 3 wherein said oxidizing agent is sodium, potassium or ammonium bromate or iodate and said vanadate is magnesium or calcium vanadate.
