Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 56 words
A process for extracting antioxidant substances from an organic plant material of the Labiate or Umbellifer family containing them, wherein the organic material is treated with an aqueous basic buffer solution with a pH value of from 7 to about 11.5, the insoluble fraction is separated and the soluble fraction containing the antioxidant substances is collected.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 56 words
A process for extracting antioxidant substances from an organic plant material of the Labiate or Umbellifer family containing them, wherein the organic material is treated with an aqueous basic buffer solution with a pH value of from 7 to about 11.5, the insoluble fraction is separated and the soluble fraction containing the antioxidant substances is collected.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
a process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the buffer solution is a sodium bicarbonate solution.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 16 words
A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the buffer solution is a potassium bicarbonate solution.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 16 words
A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the buffer solution is a disodium phosphate solution.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 23 words
A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein extraction is carried out at a temperature in the range from 40° to 90° C.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 16 words
A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein extraction is carried out under a nitrogen atmosphere.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 18 words
A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the soluble fraction is treated to eliminate the mineral salts.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the soluble fraction is acidified.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 23 words
A process as claimed in claim 8, wherein the antioxidant substances are extracted from the acidified soluble fraction with an organic water-immiscible solvent.
