Abstract
Abstract The levels of nutritionally essential metals in biological tissue are improved by administering corrective dosages of the metals found to be deficient, the metal being administered in the form of metal proteinates. General health of animals is improved by increasing the levels of metals in biological tissues through the administration of multiple metals in the form of metal proteinates.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
99 words
A method of raising the levels of essential bivalent metals in the tissues of animals which comprises administering to said animal an effective amount of exogenously synthesized metabolically assimilable metal proteinates, said proteinates being in the form of chelates of said metals with one or more protein hydrolysates selected from the group consisting of polypeptides, peptides and amino acids wherein said proteinates are formed by dissolving salts of said metals in an aqueous solution containing the protein hydrolysates and adding sufficient base to raise the ph to a value between about 7.5 and 10 to precipitate said metal proteinates.
Claim 2
