A blend comprising hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile-starch graft copolymer and about 2.5% to 20% by weight based on the blend, a fatty quaternary ammonium chloride containing at least 18 carbon atoms having the structural formula: ##STR2## wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are hydrogen or alkyl radicals with the proviso that there is at least one alkyl radical in the molecule.
