Abstract
Abstract A high viscosity, low spatter dental prophylactic paste including an abrasive, a humectant, a soluble alkaline silicate and an acid-forming agent, the ratio of the acid-forming agent to silicate being such as to delay the gelling time of the paste so that it is sufficiently flowable to be poured into individual containers via nozzles under low pressure before gelling.
