A compatible, impact modifiable composition comprising a blend of vinyl chloride polymer and glutarimide polymer containing units of the structural formula ##STR2## wherein R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 independently represent hydrogen or C 1 to C 20 unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, aryl or mixtures thereof, the weight ratio of said polymers being about 5:95 to 95:5.
