Abstract
Abstract Stable dithranol compositions in anhydrous vehicles therapeutically effective as topical treatment for skin disorders such as psoriasis, eczema and seborrheic dermatitides are disclosed. Incorporation of oxalic acid in anhydrous dithranol compositions has been found to chemically stabilize said dithranol. Oxalic acid may be present in an amount of from 0.01-to-2 percent by weight of the total composition. The anhydrous vehicle includes an anhydrous base formulated from glyceryl monostearate and isopropyl myristate or isopropyl palmitate as major ingredients.
