Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 67 words
A chain saw guide bar comprising two side plates and an intermediate layer, each of said side plates comprising an outer layer of fiber-reinforced plastic material and an inner layer of metal which is glued to said outer layer, said intermediate layer being of less height than said inner layers such that said inner layers and said intermediate layers form a guide track for a saw chain.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 67 words
A chain saw guide bar comprising two side plates and an intermediate layer, each of said side plates comprising an outer layer of fiber-reinforced plastic material and an inner layer of metal which is glued to said outer layer, said intermediate layer being of less height than said inner layers such that said inner layers and said intermediate layers form a guide track for a saw chain.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 23 words
A guide bar according to claim 1, wherein the reinforcement fibers for said outer layer comprise carbon, boron, metal, glass or aramide fibers.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 17 words
A guide bar according to claim 1, wherein said intermediate layer comprises a cell structure of metal.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 20 words
A guide bar according to claim 3, wherein the cells are of hexagonal section and are arranged in honeycomb relationship.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 29 words
A guide bar according to claim 4, wherein said inner layers each include weight-reducing holes, portions of said intermediate layer protrude into said holes and abut said outer layers.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 21 words
A guide bar according to claim 1, wherein said intermediate layer includes at least one longitudinal channel for conducting lubrication oil.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 27 words
A guide bar according to claim 6 including at least one lateral channel extending laterally from said longitudinal channel and communicating the latter with said guide track.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 25 words
A guide bar according to claim 1, wherein said intermediate layer is fastened by gluing to said side plates and by at least one rivet.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 16 words
A guide bar according to claim 1, wherein said inner layers each include weight reducing holes.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 33 words
A guide bar according to claim 9, wherein the weight reducing holes are spaced apart to create bridge portions of said inner layer which interconnect upper and lower portions of said inner layer.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 26 words
A guide bar according to claim 1 including a toothed idler sprocket rotatably mounted between said inner layers such that the latter form guide surfaces therefor.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 15 words
A guide bar according to claim 1, wherein said inner layer is formed of steel.
