Claim 2
Independent Claim 30 words
A method for controlling the fouling potential of mollusks in an aqueous system which comprises adding to said system an effective amount for the purpose of an effective nitrostyrene compound.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 12 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein the mollusks are asiatic clams.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
A method according to claim 2, wherein the aqueous system is the aqueous system of a cooling water system.
Claim 5
Independent Claim 14 words
A method according to claims 1, 2 or 3 wherein the compound is bromonitrostyrene.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method according to claim 4 wherein said compound is beta-bromo-beta-nitrostyrene.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 41 words
A method for controlling the fouling potential of mollusks in an aqueous system which is prone to such which comprises adding to said system a sufficient amount of an effective nitrostyrene compound to substantially destroy the planktonic juveniles of said mollusks.
Claim 8
Independent Claim 41 words
A method for controlling the fouling potential of mollusks in an aqueous system which is prone to such which comprises adding to said system a sufficient amount of an effective nitrostyrene compound to substantially destroy the planktonic juveniles of said mollusks.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 15 words

Claim 11
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method according to claim 8 wherein said compound is beta-bromo-beta-nitrostyrene.
Claim 12
Independent Claim 73 words
A method of assuring that the flow of water through a cooling water system is not impeded or curtailed due to the growth and proliferation of mollusks without significant attendant contamination of waters discharged from said cooling water system which comprises feeding to the incoming water to said system a sufficient amount of an effective nitrostyrene compound to destroy any planktonic juveniles of said mollusks which may be contained in said incoming water.
Claim 13
Independent Claim 73 words
A method of assuring that the flow of water through a cooling water system is not impeded or curtailed due to the growth and proliferation of mollusks without significant attendant contamination of waters discharged from said cooling water system which comprises feeding to the incoming water to said system a sufficient amount of an effective nitrostyrene compound to destroy any planktonic juveniles of said mollusks which may be contained in said incoming water.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 13 words
A method according to claim 10 wherein the mollusk is an asiatic clam.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method according to claim 11 wherein said compound is bromonitrostyrene.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method according to claim 12 wherein the compound is beta-bromo-beta-nitrostyrene.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim 23 words
A method according to claim 10, 11, 12 or 13 wherein the aqueous system is the aqueous system of a cooling water system.
