Abstract
Abstract An image recording system in which an object image is caused to be formed on a solid state image transducer such as CCD each time a release is actuated, and the image signal stored on said image transducer is recorded as a video signal, thus a single frame image being recorded for each release. By controlling the storing operation of the image signal and the like, the exposure level for the image signal is adjusted to make it possible to record and reproduce the image always with regard to an optimum exposure state.

An image recording device comprising: (A) image signal generating means for generating an image signal indicative of an object image, said image signal generating means being of a signal integration type which integrates said image signal over a signal integration time; (B) control means for controlling the signal level of said image signal, said control means including a signal integration time control circuit for controlling said signal integration time to adjust the signal level of said image signal; (C) recording means for recording said image signal; (D) detection means for detecting whether the signal level of said image signal is below a predetermined level; and (E) inhibit means responsive to said detection means for inhibiting the signal recording operation of said recording means when the detection means detects that the signal level of said image signal is below the predetermined level.
