Abstract The subject invention involves reduction of light reflection into a photoresist coating over a reflective substrate by the use of a photoactive compound in a photoresist formulation that is the reaction product of a diazooxide and curcumin.

A photoresist composition responsive to activating radiation at a wavelength within the range of from 200 to 460 nm comprising an admixture of a polymer binder and a photoactive compound, said photoactive compound having a concentration varying from between 1.0 and 35.0 weight percent of the total solids of the photoresist composition and containing at least ten percent of an esterification product of a diazooxide and curcumin dye having two pendant hydroxyl groups.
