Abstract
Abstract A color image processing apparatus includes an input device for inputting color image data representing a color image, a detecting device for detecting an edge of the color image based on the input color image, and a discriminating device for discriminating whether the color image is a predetermined color image in accordance with the detection of the edge and color distribution of the input color image data. The discriminating device includes a first memory device for storing the color distribution of a line image portion of the predetermined color image and a second memory device for storing the color distribution of a half-tone portion of the predetermined color image.
