Abstract
Abstract A therapeutic treatment method is disclosed wherein a cooling gel is applied to a treatment area to cool the surface of the area, providing a pulsed light output for the treatment and directing the pulsed light output to the treatment area. The light may be directed by a light guide, either flexible or rigid. The light may be incoherent. The angle or spectrum of the light applied to the skin may be controlled. A dye may be dissolved in the light guide, and the light guide may be made of several optical fibers fused together at their ends.
