Abstract
Abstract In a predictive coding apparatus, an interframe/interfield predictive signal is generated in which low frequency components are depressed. A predictive error signal is generated on the basis of an input video signal and the interframe/interfield predictive signal. The predictive error signal is then interframe/interfield-coded. In a predictive decoding apparatus, a code transmitted from the coding apparatus is interframe/interfield-decoded to obtain a decoded signal. An interframe/interfield predictive signal is generated in which low frequency components are depressed. The video signal is then reproduced by adding the decoded signal and the predictive signal.
