Loom with pneumatic weft injection - has weft thread metering drum with electronic controls of wind-on speed and winding release separator
Abstract
Abstract The weft thread feed mechanism is intended for a pneumatic weaving loom. It comprises a stationary drum on to which a supply of weft thread is continuously wound and from which metered lengths successively transfer to the main blower nozzle for injection into the warp gap. The run-off end of the drum is provided with a thread retainer solenoid-operated between a release position and a thread retaining position to prevent thread feed during part of the weaving cycle, all in accordance with the main patent. A sensor at the wind-up end of the drum produces a signal fed into a circuit which controls the winding motor and a sensor at the run-off end connects to a circuit which controls the solenoid so as each time to release the required length of thread. Used to give metered weft thread feed in weaving loom with pneumatic weft injection. The arrangement provides an electronic control circuit for the weft feed mechanism disclosed in the main patent.
