Abstract

Abstract Conventional mechanical monitors are fitted for both the warp yarn and the weft. Each of these has an associated electrical sensor which produces one discrete pulse each time the mechanical monitor operates. These pulses pass along separate warp and weft channels and trigger flip flops to a second bistable state from which they are reset to the first state by a machine restart sensor, the pulses then being recorded by an undivided counter for each channel. The electrical sensor is an oscillator with moving iron shutter, or a reed relay with moving permanent magnet.
