Abstract

Abstract Translated from German Die Erfindung betrifft eine implantierbare Kohlenstoffelektrode. The invention relates to an implantable carbon electrode. With such an electrode, the energy loss occurring after the implantation should largely be avoided and thrombus formation should also be prevented. For this purpose, the invention provides a smooth coating made of hydrophilic ion-conducting plastic for the electrode, which at least on the surface consists of body or blood-compatible material. The carbon electrode according to the invention serves in particular as a stimulation electrode, preferably in cardiac pacemakers.
