Abstract

Abstract Translated from German Einrichtung zur Verbindung von Lichtleitern (2) in Form von Steckern (1) oder Verteilern (11) bzw. Schaltern. Device for connecting light guides (2) in the form of plugs (1) or distributors (11) or switches. A widening optic (3) integrated in the plug (1) or switch is used, which in a first embodiment consists of a planasphere (3) and in a second embodiment consists of a conical convex lens placed directly on the light guide. In both cases, coupling losses due to the light reflection at glass-air interfaces in lens connectors are minimized by reducing the number of these interfaces. For this purpose, the lenses (3) are in 1st mutual immersion contact or 2nd in immersion contact with the light guides. Since the connector (1) has a parallel beam path at the junction, these are insensitive to centering.
