Abstract

In order to increase the impedance of photodiodes of the "mesa" type (1, 2, 3) in the radiation detectors lit "on the front face", that is to say on the side opposite to their substrate, the invention plans to pierce these detectors, at the location of the photodiodes, with holes (21), extending in depth to beyond the junction (1) of the photodiodes, so as to produce as many mosaics of elementary diodes constituting each photodiode. To improve the collection of carriers, a layer (25), electrically conductive and transparent to radiation, can be provided on the surface of the photodiodes, under the contact (23). Applications: the same as in the prior art, especially infrared detection.
