Abstract

Abstract A sandwich material is characterized in that it comprises at least three layers, viz a first layer (12), constituting a wear layer, consisting of a polymeric substance with a hardness of between 85 and 100° Shore A, a second layer (9) consisting of rubber with a hardness of between 50 and 70° Shore A, but softer than said first layer, and a third layer (10) consisting of rubber with a hardness of between 20 and 50° Shore A, but softer than said second layer, said second layer being located between said first and third layers.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 92 words
Sandwich material, characterized in that it comprises at least three layers, viz a first layer (12), constituting a wear layer, consisting of a polymeric substance with a hardness of between 85 and 100° Shore A, a second layer (9) consisting of rubber with a hardness of between 50 and 70° Shore A, but softer than said first layer, and a third layer (10) consisting of rubber with hardness of between 20 and 50° Shore A, but softer than said second layer, said second layer being located between said first and third layers.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 92 words
Sandwich material, characterized in that it comprises at least three layers, viz a first layer (12), constituting a wear layer, consisting of a polymeric substance with a hardness of between 85 and 100° Shore A, a second layer (9) consisting of rubber with a hardness of between 50 and 70° Shore A, but softer than said first layer, and a third layer (10) consisting of rubber with hardness of between 20 and 50° Shore A, but softer than said second layer, said second layer being located between said first and third layers.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 46 words
Sandwich material according to claim 1, characterized in that said first layer (12) consists of polyurethane, to which has been admixed in total 5-30% by volume of one or several friction-lowering substances, and in that the hardness of said layer is at least 90° Shore A.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 25 words
Sandwich material according to claim 2, characterized in that the friction-lowering substances are chosen from the group consisting of polytetrafluoroethylene, polyethylene, graphite and silicone oil.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 23 words
Sandwich material according to claim 3, characterized in that the first layer, which is a wear layer, contains 10-25% by volume of polytetrafluoroethylene.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 110 words
Sandwich material according to any of the claims 1-4, characterized in that between the first layer, constituting a wear layer, and said second layer, consisting of rubber with a hardness of between 50 and 70 0 Shore A, is arranged a fourth or indermediate layer (13), consisting of a polymeric substance with a hardness of between 70 and 95 0 Shore A and substantially void of friction-lowering substances, with excellent adhesive properties both to the second layer, consisting of rubber, directly adjoining said fourth layer, and to the immediately overlying wear layer, and M that the fourth wear layer (13) like the wear layer (12) preferably mainly consists of polyurethane.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 140 words
Sandwich material according to any of the claims 1-5, characterized in that the second layer (9) is between 1.5 and 3 times as thick as the total thickness of the outer layer (12) and said intermediate layer (13), if present, that the third layer (10) is between 1.5 and 3 times as thick as the second layer, that the sum of the thicknesses of the second (9) and the third (10) layers preferably is between 3 and 8 times the total thickness of the outer wear layer (12) and said intermediate layer (13), if present, and in that the total thickness of the first (wear) layer and the fourth (intermediate) layer is between 2 and 10 mm, that of the second layer is between 4 and 25 mm, and that of the third layer is between 8 and 50 mm.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 38 words
Sandwich material according to any of the claims 1-6, characterized in that the hardness of the second layer is between 55 and 65° Shore A, and that of the third layer is between 35 and 45° Shore A.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 56 words
Sandwich material according to any of the claims 1-7, characterized in that a fifth layer (14), consisting of rubber with substantially the same hardness as said second layer (9), and being no thicker than the wear layer, is arranged underneath the third layer in order to improve the adhesion of the material to an underlying surface.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 27 words
Sandwich material according to the claims 1-8, characterized in that the first layer (the wear layer 12) and the fourth layer (13) are of distinctly different colours.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 49 words
Shock absorbing element to be arranged under a conveyor belt at the area of loading, characterized in that it consists of a carrier (11) which is provided with a shock absorbing sandwich material according to any of the claims 1-9 which faces the bottom side of the conveyor belt.
