Abstract
A layer of a liquid substance mixture which has polymerizable residues and light-crosslinkable residues in the same molecule or in different molecules in contact with a gaseous polymerizing agent is brought into contact with a gaseous polymerizing agent in such a way that the layer solidifies but remains light-crosslinkable. The solidified layer is then irradiated with actinic light in a predetermined pattern and the non-light-crosslinked areas of the layer are removed with a suitable solvent. Typical polymerizable residues are e.g. Cyanoacrylates that polymerize in contact with water vapor, ammonia or an amine. Typical light-crosslinkable residues are acrylates and methacrylates. The process is suitable for the production of printing plates and printed circuits.
