Method of manufacturing endoprotheses
Abstract
A femoral hip joint endoprosthesis with a shaft (6) provided for cementless anchoring in the femur (1), the proximal end section of which is greatly thickened in relation to its distal section (12) in order to largely fill the cancellous part of the femur in its trochanter area (14) characterized in that the thickening is formed in the form of a plurality of longitudinal ribs (15) projecting from a slender shaft core (17) on its dorsal and ventral side, which sweep a broad surface towards the medial side and a plurality of towards the rib back (18) in have substantially closed openings (20). As a result, the conditions for the transmission of force in the proximal end section of the prosthesis shaft to the bone tissue are improved, and at the same time the elasticity of the shaft can be influenced favorably.
