Abstract

Abstract Disclosed is a motor having a rotor driven by a vibrator generating a vibration of rope skipping motion. The rotor has a friction portion which is in contact with the friction portion of the vibrator so as to be given the vibration of rope skipping motion by the friction portion of the vibrator, and a supporting portion which is provided at a position spaced apart from the friction portion and which is contact with a portion of the vibrator. Thus, the motor is constructed compactly.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 18
Claim 1
Independent Claim 22 words
(a) a vibrator having a friction surface and an other surface provided with a position which is apart from the friction surface;
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 46 words
(b) a movable member having a frictional contact surface which is in frictional contact with the friction surface of said vibrator to receive a vibration of a rope skipping motion and a supporting portion which is in contact with the other surface of the vibrator; and
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 48 words
(c) an electromechanical energy conversion member which is in contact with the vibrator and for producing the vibration of rope skipping motion in the vibrator in response to an applied electrical signal, the vibration of rope skipping motion causing relative movement between the vibrator and the movable member.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 28 words
A motor according to Claim 1, wherein said vibrator has a large-diametered shaft portion, a small-diametered shaft portion and a horn portion provided between said two shaft portions.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 19 words
A motor according to Claim 2, wherein the friction surface of said vibrator is provided on said horn portion.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 20 words
A motor according to Claim 2, wherein the other surface of said vibrator is provided on said small-diametered shaft portion.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 47 words
A motor according to Claim 1, wherein said movable member has a recess which is not in contact with said vibrator, and the frictional contact surface of said movable member and the supporting portion of said movable member are spaced apart from each other by said recess.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 25 words
A motor according to Claim 1, wherein the supporting portion of said movable member is provided on the node of the vibration of said vibrator.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 40 words
A motor according to Claim 1, further comprising a thrust bearing which is in contact with said movable member, and urging means frictionally engaged with said thrust bearing for imparting a force for urging said movable member against said vibrator.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 18 words
A motor according to Claim 7, wherein said urging means includes a spring engaged with said thrust bearing.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 48 words
A motor according to Claim 7, further comprising means for holding said urging means at a predetermined position, said urging means being provided between said holding means and said thrust bearing in such a manner as to separate said holding means and said thrust bearing in opposite directions.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 24 words
A motor according to Claim 1, further comprising pressure means for urging said electromechanical energy conversion member against one end portion of said vibrator.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 44 words
A motor according to Claim 10, wherein said pressure means includes a pressure member provided at a location opposed to one end portion of said vibrator with said conversion member interposed therebetween, and a bolt threadably coupled to the pressure member and said vibrator.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 121 words
A vibration driven motor comprising: (a) a vibrator having a friction surface and an other surface provided with a position which is apart from the friction surface; (b) a frictional member having a frictional contact surface which is in frictional contact with the friction surface of said vibrator to receive a vibration of a rope skipping motion and a supporting portion which is in contact with the other surface of the vibrator; and (c) an electromechanical energy conversion member which is in contact with the vibrator and for producing the vibration of rope skipping motion in the vibrator in response to an applied electrical signal, the vibration of rope skipping motion causing relative movement between the vibrator and the movable member.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 117 words
A vibration driven system comprising: (a) a vibrator having a friction surface and an other surface provided with a position which is apart from the friction surface; (b) a movable member having a frictional contact surface which is in contact with the friction surface of said vibrator to receive a vibration of a rope skipping motion and a supporting portion which is in contact with the other surface of the vibrator; and (c) an electromechanical energy conversion member which is in contact with the vibrator and for producing the vibration of rope skipping motion in the vibrator in response to an applied electrical signal, the vibrator moving the movable member by the vibration of rope skipping motion.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 28 words
A vibration driven system according to Claim 13, wherein said movable member includes the platen roller of a printer having one end thereof held at a predetermined position.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim 29 words
A vibration driven system according to Claim 14, further comprising a printer mounting frame which is in contact with said vibrator to fix said vibrator at a predetermined postion.
Claim 18
Dependent Claim 111 words
A vibration driven motor comprising: (a) a vibrator having a friction surface, an other surface provided with a position which is apart from the friction surface, and an electromechanical energy conversion member for producing a vibration of rope skipping motion in the vibrator in response to an applied electrical signal; and (b) a frictional member having a frictional contact surface which is in contact with the friction surface of said vibrator to receive the vibration of rope skipping motion and a supporting portion which is in contact with the other surface of the vibrator, whereby the vibration of rope skipping motion causes relative movement between the vibrator and the frictional member.
