Compressive margical implant
Abstract
The medical compression implant (1) for the operative restitution of spinal damage, especially in the cervical area, consists of two opposing hook-like clamp jaws (3, 4), which are connected to each other by a threaded spindle (2) and can be contracted while reducing their distance (B). In the threaded spindle (2), a key profile (9) is arranged between two threaded sections (7, 8) with a right-hand thread and a left-hand thread for the form-fitting attachment of a turning tool. Both clamp jaws (3, 4) have, as threaded nuts (5, 6), each pivotally mounted cylindrical rotating body with diametrical threaded bores for screwing in the threaded sections (7, 8), which are each mounted in cylindrical transverse bores of the clamp jaws (3, 4). The bore walls (21) are each provided with diametrical openings (22, 23) for passing the threaded sections (7, 8) of the threaded spindle (2). The threaded spindle (2) has a tapered cone (12, 13) on both ends, which, in cooperation with the inner edge or inner surface of the opening (22) designed as a radial bore, causes the clamp jaw (3, 4) to pivot about the axis the cross hole in the direction of pull. A handling device in the form of special spreading pliers is provided for implantation.
