Abstract

Abstract The intruder alarm system has several detectors communicating with a central device (1). This evaluates the alarm condition from the signals provided from the detectors, as transmitted radio signals. The transmitted signals are provided via two different signal frequencies, to include a handshaking signal arrangement. A test transmitter and receiver within the central device use a test signal with at least one of these frequencies for checking the alarm signal transmission channel.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 75 words
Wireless hazard signalling system comprising a signalling centre (1) and at least one signalling unit, and the signalling centre (1) receives and evaluates a radio signal transmitted by the signalling unit in case of a signal-relevant event, characterised by a transmit testing unit which on detection of an alien signal by the signalling centre (1) transmits a radio test signal on at least one frequency in order to test the availability of the transmit channel.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 40 words
Wireless hazard signalling system according to Claim 1, characterised by a receive testing unit (24) for receiving the radio testing signal and for passing on an acknowledgement signal to the signalling centre (1) when satisfactorily receiving the radio testing signal.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 29 words
Wireless hazard signalling system according to Claim 2, characterised in that the acknowledgement signal is passed on by wire from the test receiver (24) to the signalling centre (1).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 36 words
Wireless hazard signalling system according to Claim 2, characterised in that the test receiver comprises a transponder (24) which transmits at least one radio testing signal on at least one frequency to the signalling centre (1).
