Cylinder injection type two-cycle internal combustion engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To perform excellent combustion without causing self-ignition, knocking, and smoke by performing a first injection before or after an exhaust valve is closed, and performing a second injection toward a recessed groove. CONSTITUTION:A recessed groove 15 extending from below a sparking plug 10 to below the tip part of a fuel injection valve 14 is formed on the top face of a piston 2. When the engine is operated at high load, a first fuel injection is performed from the valve 14 before or after an exhaust valve 7 is closed. At this time, the position of the piston 2 is low, ignition fuel collides against a wide range of the top face of the piston 2, thereby the ignition fuel receives heat from the piston 2, and thus gasification of the injection fuel is promoted. Since the fuel injection is performed twice separately, a gas mixture formed by fuel injection in a combustion chamber 4 is considerably lean. Although the gas mixture is heated by a high temperature burnt gas remaining in the chamber 4, the gas mixture does not self-ignites because of its leanness and small fuel density.
