Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a recording material for ink jet recording excellent in ink receptivity and recording image quality at the time of recording and suppressed in the generation of unevenness due to the absorption of ink. CONSTITUTION:In a recording material wherein an ink receiving layer containing xerogel type porous pigment as a main component is provided on a base material, the ink receiving layer is a layer containing at least two kinds of xerogel type porous pigments different in pore radius (peak value) measured by a BET method or at least one intermediate layer containing at least two kinds of the above mention xerogel type porous pigments is provided between the base material and the ink receiving layer.
