Rearview mirror

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To accurately adjust the angle of the field of view according to circumstances, by swinging a rearview mirror in connection with a steering means depending on the moving direction of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 45 is closed to light on a flashing lamp 47 to turn the vehicle to the leftand its steering wheel 38 is rotated by a prescribed angle, another switch 43 is colsed to rotate a motor 23 at a speed proportional to the rotation angle of the steering wheel 38. A support 17 is then swung through gears 25, 22 so that the rearview mirror 18 is swung forward to the left against the tensile force of a spring 32. As a result, the angle of the field of the left rearview is increased from a value A to another B, namely, a body X which has not been reflected on the rearview mirror 18 comes into the view of the vehicle driver. A traffic accident can thus be prevented.
