Production of liquid crystal color display element

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To form color filter parts having flattened surfaces by printing and forming the color filter parts between the 1st opaque parts, printing and forming the 2nd opaque or transparent parts higher than the color filter parts thereon and polishing the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:An opaque material of black color, etc. is printed at prescribed intervals on the substrate 2 to form the opaque parts 4 and inks 5R, 5G, 5B for red, green and blue to be made into the color filter parts 1 are printed on the substrate 2 between the parts 4 and are fixed. The opaque material of black color, etc. is printed between the inks 5 to be made into the filter parts 1 so as to be higher than the inks 5 to form the 2nd opaque parts 6. The color filter parts 1 are polished together with the 2nd opaque parts 6 by using a lapping film consisting of alumina and silicon carbide by which said parts are flattened or approximately flattened. A coating material of, for example, epoxy is coated on the parts 1 and the 2nd opaque parts 6 to form a flat coating layer 7.
