Dye for thermal transfer recording and sheet for thermal transfer recording
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an ink for use in a sublimation-type thermal transfer recording system, which is liable to be sublimed under the operating conditions of a thermal recording head, is not thermally decomposed, has a favorable hue and a high molar absorptivity and is stable to heat, light, moisture, chemicals or the like, by using an indoaniline coloring matter of formula I. CONSTITUTION:In formula I, X is hydrogen, alkyl which may be fluoro-substituted, alkoxy, formylamino, alkylcarbonylamino which may be fluoro-substituted, arylcarbonylamino or halogen, each of Y<1>-Y<3> is hydrogen, alkyl which may be fluoro-substituted, alkoxy or halogen, each of R<1> and R<2> is hydrogen, 1-8C subst. or unsubst. alkyl, allyl or aryl, and A is formula II, wherein each of R4 and R5 is 1-8C subst. or unsubst. alkyl or aryl. The coloring matter can be produced by heating a phenol of formula III and an aniline of formula IV in the presence of silver nitrate.
