Pigment composition
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a pigment composition which can give an aqueous pigment dispersion of good flow without adding any surfactant or dispersant such as a water-soluble resin, by adding a specified derivative of, e.g., an organic pigment to a pigment. CONSTITUTION:A pigment composition prepared by adding 0.3-50pts.wt. compound of the formula [wherein P is an organic pigment residue, an anthraquinone residue or an acridone residue; X is -SO2-, -CO-, -CH2- or -CH2 NHCOCH2-; R is H, an alkyl, (CH2CHR' -O-) H', R' is H or methyl; n is 1-3 and m and l are each 2-100], namely, a derivative of, e.g., an organic pigment to 100pts.wt. pigment. An aqueous pigment dispersion of good flow heretofore not attained can be obtained by using said composition containing a compound of the formula, and when this dispersion is added to a vehiclle suitable of use, the agglomeration of the pigment scarcely occurs. Said pigment dispersion can show a sufficient flow even if it contains no surfactant or dispersant such as a water-soluble resin.
