Abstract A SURFACE GENERATING SYSTEM WHEREIN CONTINUOUS STREAMS OF ELECTROLYTE ARE CIRCULATED OVER PLATIUM ANODE AND CATHODE ELECTRODES AND ONTO THE WORK SURFACE OF AN OPTICAL BLANK. DURING MOVEMENT OVER THE WORK SURFACE, THE ELECTRODES ARE SELECTIVELY ENERIGIZED TO PRODUCE ELECTROPOLISHING THEREOF WITHOUT ADVERSE EFFECTS OF REACTION PLATING OR OTHER FACTORS THAT DEGRADE SURFACE QUALITY.
