Abstract Pigmentary metal oxides, e.g., titanium dioxide, are treated with an organic amine, e.g., triethanolamine, and an organic nitrogen compound containing an ionizable hydrogen atom attached to the nitrogen atom, the nitrogen atom being flanked by at least one carbonyl group, e.g., ortho-benzosulfimide.
