Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 124 words
A device for thermal fixation of electrographic powder images on carriers of arbitrary quality and thickness comprising a thermal radiator for radiating the carrier passing in proximity thereto, said thermal radiator having a mechanical radiation shutter for the selective radiation of given areas of said carrier, such as line by line, said radiation shutter being constructed in the form of a cylindrical reflector, said reflector being pivotable about a longitudinal axis thereof, and having a radiator substantially in a focal point, and means for controlling the radiation of desired areas on the carrier for a given period of time, said radiation control means further comprising means for rotating said reflector about the longitudinal axis in synchronization with passage of said carrier past said reflector.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cylindrical reflector has a circular inner section.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 25 words
A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cylindrical reflector has an outer cylindrical construction and a parabolic reflective section on the inside thereof.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 19 words
A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a fan is provided for cooling and for discharging the vapours.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 15 words
A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the inside of the reflector is mirrored.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 29 words
A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a single rotation of the reflector through 360* which is required for a fixation process, is controlled by a single-revolution coupling.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 19 words
A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a reflector is provided opposite the radiated area of said carrier.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 29 words
A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a single rotation of the reflector through 360* which is required for a fixation process, is controlled by a coupling-braking system.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 29 words
A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a single rotation of the reflector through 360* which is required for a fixation process, is controlled by a stepping motor.
